LLumar AIR 80 indeed seems like a good option if heat/UV protection is the main interest as it provides similar heat rejection (43%) as 30/35 ceramic films (55%) without losing the visibility. If you regularly have passengers in the back, and worry about UV protection, you can also add a very light cermanic tint on top of the dark privacy glass. If you do care about the technical legal limit, and night vision, you can get a very light cermanic tint (80%), that will provide some extra heat protection (and extra UV protection). If you don't care about passing a safety, and really don't care about less visibility at night and in poor weather, then go 30%, which you like before (30% + the imbedded in glass light factory tint will get you roughly close to the darkness of the back windows). Because dark will reduce your vision at night and in poor weather. For vision/safety, not as dark is safer.Technically, the legal limit to pass a safety inspection in Ontario is 70% (and since factory glass is not clear, it will have some modest tint already), technically, you can't have very much tint at all to pass a safety (but person doing safety often doesn't check). Almost all cars will have tempered glass on the back windows and sunroof. ![]() ![]() The percentage of tint refers to the amount of light that may pass through the film. Tinting is often used to reduce glare and heat inside the car, as well as to provide privacy and security. Better cars will have laminated glass on the front side windows (to reduce cabin noise) Many cars will just have tempered glass on the front side windows. Window tint is a thin film that applies to the windows of a vehicle to reduce the amount of light that passes through. So you do not need tint for UV protection if your car has laminated acoustic glass in the front side windows. For sedans, your front side windows must allow 28-percent or more light in, and your back side windows and rear windows have to allow at least 15-percent in. I'm sure the RX350 has laminated acoustic glass on the front side windows, which blocks both UVB and UVA rays. Laminated Acoustic Windows will provide UV protection Tempered Glass (even dark privacy glass) does not block UVA rays (which are the rays that cause skin cancer).
